Living with Herbs
Probiotics are good bacteria that live on herbs and plants and help to ferment food. Eating probiotics is the best thing you can do for your health. Ever thought about it? All your well-being depends on your healthy guts. Probiotics help your colon to provide a stable health and a good immunity. Learn more and see examples. What are 'probiotics'? Probiotics are live bacteria your body needs in order to digest properly. They are found naturally in your body – your colon depends on these ‘good bacteria’ – and in certain foods. Consuming food that contains these ‘good’ bacteria will help most effectively in the process of cleansing and purifying. These bacteria help to move the food through your colon, and to digest the ‘good’ nutrients and eliminate the waste. Therefore probiotics are extremely important when it comes to detoxifying. Read the label: make sure there are the right bacteria There are two common probiotic bacteria: Lactobacillus – found in dairy products and fermented foods (such as sauerkraut and fermented pickles) – and Bifidobacterium – found in some dairy products. Yogurt is best and easiest The easiest way to find these ‘good’ bacteria is yogurt. Yogurt has proteins as well, but is much more potent as a source of probiotics. It promotes digestion and cares for a healthy colon. Be sure to read the label: It should say ‘includes life active cultures’ and at least mention Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium – and no artificial additives. Choose ‘plain’ yogurt. It’s better to add fruit and/or spices by yourself.
