Stevia
(Stevia rebaudiana )
Native to subtropical and tropical regions, Stevia is widely grown for its sweet leaves. As a sweetener and sugar substitute, Stevia's taste has a slower onset and longer duration than that of sugar, although some of its extracts may have a bitter or licorice-like aftertaste at high concentrations. The sweetness of Stevia is 300 times the sweetness of sugar. As a dietary supplement to sugar it is attractive as a natural sweetener to people on carbohydrate-controlled diets.
This is genuine Stevia - just the powdered leaves, not processed, no extract. Stevia leaves contain potassium, zinc, magnesium, vitamin B3 and about 10% fiber. You will not need much since Stevia is sweeter than sugar - but you have to find out, what tastes best for you.
Use the powdered leaves to spice tomato sauces, salad sauces - and in every dish you like with a little bit of sweetness.
